iOS 15.6.1 released along with other OS updates: Know the features and security fixes

Apple has released new software program updates for iPhones, iPads and Macs to repair two security vulnerabilities recognized by the tech big to be actively exploited by attackers.

The two vulnerabilities have been present in WebKit, the browser engine that powers Safari and other apps, and the kernel, primarily the working system’s core. The two flaws have an effect on iOS, iPadOS and macOS Monterey, report TechCrunch.

The tech big mentioned the WebKit bug might be exploited if a susceptible machine accessed or processed “maliciously crafted web content (that) may lead to arbitrary code execution”.

While the second bug allowed a malicious utility “to execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges”, which implies full entry to the machine. The two flaws are believed to be associated, the report mentioned.

Some profitable exploits, similar to highly effective nation-state spy ware, use two or extra vulnerabilities in conjunction to interrupt via a tool’s layers of protections.

It is just not unusual for attackers to first goal a vulnerability in the machine’s browser as a method to break into the wider working system, granting the attacker extensive entry to the person’s delicate knowledge.

Apple mentioned iPhone 6s fashions and later, iPad Air 2 and later, iPad fifth technology and later, iPad mini 4 and later, and iPod contact (seventh technology), and all iPad Pro fashions are affected.
