India test-fires new version of supersonic missile

India efficiently test-fired a brand new model of its BrahMos missile on Thursday.

The missile launched from a check vary in Chandipur, off the coast of Odisha, was “equipped with advanced indigenous technologies and followed a modified optimal trajectory for enhanced efficiency and improved performance,” learn a authorities assertion.

The BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles might be launched from submarines, ships, plane or land.

The missile was developed as a part of a three way partnership launched in 1998 between DRDO and Russia’s NPO Mashinostroyeniya.

India test-fired a naval variant of the missile on Jan 11.

Days later, the Philippines introduced that it has finalised a deal price $375 million to amass the shore-based anti-ship BrahMos missile system from New Delhi.

Below the deal, India and Brahmos Aerospace will ship three batteries, prepare operators and maintainers, and supply logistics help, the Philippines’ Protection Secretary Delfin Lorenzana stated in a press release final week.
