Govt sending teams to 8 states, J&K to control dengue | India News

NEW DELHI: In the wake of increasing dengue cases in several states, the Centre on Tuesday deputed nine different teams to identified states and UTs to assist state governments to manage dengue outbreaks.
The teams have been asked to submit their respective reports to the health ministry.
“The teams are requested to kindly liase with the state governments and proceed immediately,” an order from the health ministry issued on Tuesday to the nine teams said.
The teams have been deputed to Haryana, Punjab, Kerala, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi and Jammu & Kashmir.
The move comes after health minister Mansukh Mandaviya held a review meeting on Monday and assured states and UTs of support from the ministry.
Officials said on-ground initiatives like hotspot identification, fogging and timely treatment will be carried out to curb the disease.
The Centre has also advised states and UTs to consider repurposing Covid beds to treat dengue.
