Double Paralympic gold medallist Devendra Jhajharia receives Padma Bhushan | More sports News


NEW DELHI: Indian Paralympic javelin thrower Devendra Jhajharia on Monday acquired his Padma Bhushan award, within the discipline of Sports.
Ace Indian javelin thrower Devendra Jhajharia is a two-time Paralympics gold medallist (Athens 2004, Rio 2016) and one-time silver medallist (Tokyo 2020).
In 2012 he was the primary Paralympian to be honoured with Padma Shri.

Today, President Ram Nath Kovind conferred the Padma awards.
The Padma awards are conferred in three classes — Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri. These awards are given in numerous disciplines and fields similar to artwork, social work, public affairs, science and engineering, commerce and business, medication, literature and training, sports, civil service, and so on.
‘Padma Vibhushan’ is awarded for distinctive and distinguished service; ‘Padma Bhushan’ for distinguished service of excessive order and ‘Padma Shri’ for distinguished service in any discipline. The awards are introduced on the event of Republic Day yearly.

These awards are conferred by the President of India at ceremonial capabilities that are held at Rashtrapati Bhavan often round March/ April yearly. This 12 months the President has accredited conferment of 128 Padma Awards together with 2 duo case (in a duo case, the Award is counted as one) as per listing under.
