TASHKENT (Uzbekistan): India’s weightlifter Punam Yadav on Tuesday gained the silver medal within the girls’s 76kg class on the ongoing Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships 2021 in Tashkent.
Punam Yadav lifted a complete of 220kg (98+122) and stood seventh within the World Weightlifting Championships, that are being held concurrently in Tashkent till December 17. India being a Commonwealth nation is competing in each.
2018 Commonwealth Video games gold medallist compatriot R Arockiya Alish clinched bronze for a complete elevate of 214kg (91+123). Canada’s Maya Laylor gained the Commonwealth gold for a complete of 229kg (99+130).
Earlier, twice CWG medallist Vikas Thakur clinched the bronze medal within the males’s 96kg on the Commonwealth championships. The seven-time nationwide champion pulled off a mixed elevate of 339kg (150+189).
