Blue Bombers defeat Tiger-Cats 33-25 in OT to repeat as Grey Cup champions

Published on

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers gained their second straight Gray Cup title with a dramatic 33-25 additional time victory over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats within the 108th Gray Cup on Sunday at Tim Hortons Subject in Hamilton, Ont.

Quarterback Zach Collaros linked with receiver Darvin Adams for a 13-yard landing on Winnipeg’s opening additional time possession, and he adopted it up with a two-point conversion cross to Rasheed Bailey to provide the Blue Bombers a 33-25 lead.

Winnipeg’s defence stood sturdy and linebacker Kyrie Wilson sealed the victory by intercepting quarterback Jeremiah Masoli on the following drive.

Masoli changed injured starter Dane Evans halfway by means of the second quarter and went on to throw two landing passes.

Winnipeg has now claimed back-to-back championships for the primary time since 1961-1962.

Extra to return.
